Voice recognition technology has a great future.
The issue of understanding language has been a problem ever since AI was established in the 1960s. Voice recognition is an amazing thing, but it is nothing unless you put a “Common Sense” back-end into the program. Understanding the context of a sentence is an entirely different (and more difficult) problem than text translation. This is exactly why search engines are still based on subtext matching… not concept matching.
