Pradosh M asked:
I wanna do a Master's degree in Computer Science. My first preference is US(Coz ther r many of my frnds ther and hence i know the situation ther). But i m considering Australia also. But i dont know much abt Computer Science education ther. Can ne1 gve me info as to the quality of the computer science education in Australia? Some questions which i hve r as follows:- 1)Is ther more emphasis on assignments as in the US? 2)are the assignments such tht they encourage individual thinking? (I know the above 2 things mostly depend upon professors, but i just wanted 2 know) 3)Is the degree gud enough 2 get a job ther? 4)Do universities offer campus placements? 5) As my final aim is 2 get a PhD in US, after a Master's can i get admission in US for PhD? And will the course adequately prepare me for a PhD? 6)And my fields of choice are Data mining and artificial intelligence. Is it possible to get a job which will enable me to pursue a career in these fields

Dobriy Den.
1) and 2) No one would tell, it all depends which school, treacher and many more variables. But I am sure in Australia the teachers, schools and programs as good as here in USA, in many cases even better.
3)In Australia after graduation international student gains many cool possibilities— job offers, permanent residency (green card), and all kinds of security ( health, financial).
4) Yes, they do offer campus placements.
5)It would be more difficult to attend PhD program in USA with AU diploma. The reason is that u should be recommended for PH program by your professors and to get connections u need to live and study in USA.
6) Honestly I don’t know.
I am looking forward to apply for student visa for Australia, still researching the better way to do it.Maybe you know?
Good luck
